The Edinburgh Military Tattoo is a fantastic display of music, dance, song and military from the countries of the Commonwealth. This is a once in a lifetime show, which gives a real flavour of Scotland. Highlights include, Highland Dancers, Tartan, bagpipes, the Lone Piper and Fireworks.
It is very dramatic in setting and uses Edinburgh Castle as a backdrop. This is an experience which must not be missed. The Tattoo runs for the month of August only.
The jewel in the crown of the Edinburgh events calendar is without doubt the four-week arts and culture extravaganza in August known simply as ‘The Festival’.
This is something of an umbrella term because in fact, the capital plays host to a number international festivals which overlap and interweave throughout the month including the International Festival, the Festival Fringe, the Book Festival, the Film Festival and the Military Tattoo.
